### Summary
Are you ready to contribute to matters of national importance that promote a competitive and productive American economy? The Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice has an opening for a Senior Executive to join its dedicated team working in the public interest to protect the competitive process. The Division enforces Federal antitrust law, pursuing price-fixing and market allocation schemes, investigating mergers that may substantially reduce competition, and investigating other potentially anti-competitive conduct.
The incumbent serves as Senior Executive and Chief, Washington Criminal I, in Washington, D.C., reporting to the Director of Criminal Enforcement, and ultimately the Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division. The Washington Criminal I Section investigates and prosecutes criminal antitrust and related offenses of national and international scope, and has authority to investigate and prosecute regional matters in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States.

### Responsibilities
* Organizing, supervising, and directing the activities of the Section's attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
* Analyzing and deciding matters and issues under review; overseeing the development of complex litigation and prosecution strategies.
* Establishing and maintaining lines of responsibility, coordination, and support with officials and employees within the Antitrust Division.
* Representing the Department in interagency groups and working with other law enforcement agencies (e.g., Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney's Offices, State Attorneys General), as appropriate.
* Exercising personnel and management responsibilities, including evaluating the work of all Section staff and making recommendations for promotion, employment, and separation.

Interested applicants must:
* Be a U.S. Citizen;
* Possess a J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association;
* Have at least eight (8) years of post-J.D. legal experience;
* Be duly licensed and authorized to practice as an attorney under the laws of any State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia; and
* Be a member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar

### Qualifications
**You will be evaluated on all of the following Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs):**
MTQ1: Legal experience involving antitrust enforcement cases at the national or international level.
MTQ2: Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policy on issues of complex antitrust criminal enforcement.
MTQ3: Knowledge of and experience interacting with foreign competition agencies.

### Education
J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
### Additional information
* Selectee will be required to file a financial disclosure statement in accordance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
* The Executive Core Qualifications of the selectee who is not a current or former member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) must be approved by OPM before appointment. In addition, individuals entering the SES for the first time are subject to a one-year probationary period.
* Applicants who have completed the Candidate Development Program (CDP) and have had their ECQs certified by OPM must provide a copy of their certificate as part of their application.
* Relocation expenses **are not** authorized.
* All applicants selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Employment is also contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation adjudicated by the Department of Justice.
* You must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position.
